Advocating for issues involving children and youth is an important part of the work of the National PTA. The National PTA maintains an office in Washington, D.C., in order to more closely follow legislation and issues being discussed by Congress. This office is known as the National PTA's Office of Governmental Relations (OGR). The staff at this office is very knowledgeable in legislative affairs and provides information to members through the website and weekly electronic updates.
